This year, the passing periods are one minute shorter than the typical six.
The change impacted more people than just students. It also affected teachers.
“It impacted my segment of the school store because I run DECA, and DECA runs the school store,” said business education teacher Thomas Townsend. “By shortening it by a minute, it really cuts into how we operate the school store.”
Townsend isn’t quite sure who came up with the idea, but he suspects that it was the BLT.
“I suspect the leadership, that’s what they call it,” Townsend said. “It’s hilarious they call it BLT, which is a bacon, lettuce, tomato. It means Building Leadership Team.”
Townsend thinks that the change is good for students but not for the school store.
“Academically, it’s fine,” Townsend said. “For the school store, it’s terrible.”
Townsend noticed students’ reactions to the change.
“Like any other change, the students whined for a little bit, but then just did it because no one wants to get in trouble,” Townsend said. “Nobody wants to answer three questions about their goals.”

Daniel, nicely done. I think this is a good start to an article. I bet you can already think of other sides who could be interviewed to round out the full story. Nice work!
