It is cold outside, but warm on the inside of the robotics lab. Playful banter comes from the room; it is loud.
“Why isn’t it working?” says someone somberly in a low tone.
“Maybe you can try this,” another responds happily.
Screeching and banging from power tools overwhelms the chatting. People in the lab are everywhere; the robotics members are preparing for their next competition, which is being hosted at their school next weekend. New members who joined the robotics club are going to compete for the first time, and their robot looks unfinished. It was built by another student and repurposed for competition standards. They solve their problems by asking for help from the more experienced members, but they innovate on their own.
“Will this work?”
Their questions often receive answers that help them through their struggle
It worked!”
